Leonard Cohen, born September 21, 1934 in Westmount, Quebec and died November 7, 2016 in Los Angeles, California, was a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, poet, novelist and painter.
The Canadian singer, a folk legend, left behind him dark lyrics and a life full of mysticism.
Leonard Cohen had a voice like no other, dark lyrics, addictive melodies, to compose the soundtrack of an entire generation. It was in 1967 that the singer came out of anonymity, a few years after Bob Dylan. His music is a folk music in which he recounts his sorrows and worries, he dresses his anguish and depression with words.
Leonard Cohen traces his path, indifferent to the musical wave. In 1984, he signs a new world hit, "Hallelujah". But ten years later, he chose to disappear, in the midst of a mystical crisis. When he was found, he became a Buddhist monk. He misses the scene and ends up going back up, his voice always lower, his elegance intact. Leonard Cohen died at the age of 82.
