Oscar Emmanuel Peterson, born August 15, 1925 in Montreal and died December 23, 2007 in Mississauga, is a Canadian jazz pianist and composer.
William Basie, known as Count Basie, born on August 21, 1904 and died on April 26, 1984, is a pianist, organist and jazz conductor. His orchestra is in the tradition of Kansas City, the cradle city of orchestral middle jazz.
