Lou Reed, who died on October 27, 2013 in Southampton (Long Island, New York), is an American singer-songwriter who started his career with the band The Velvet Underground.
Why was Lou Reed's writing pure poetry?
"My teacher Delmore Schwartz showed me the beauty of this simple phrase," Reed wrote in 2008, "and that's what I've been trying to do all my life as a writer.
Laurie Anderson - His wife and eternal friend publishes his tribute.
"Lou was a master of tai chi and he spent his last days here, happy, dazzled by the power and sweetness of nature. He died on Sunday morning looking at the trees and doing the famous twenty-one figures of tai chi, just with his musician's hands flying in the air (...) Lou is a prince and a fighter and I know that his songs, which speak of both the pain and beauty of the world, will fill many people with the joy he experienced. The beauty that surrounds us and that we have within us is infinite."
