Sir Michael Philip Jagger alias Mick Jagger, born July 26, 1943 in Dartford (Kent, England), is a British musician, songwriter and singer, co-founded in 1962 with Keith Richards, Brian Jones and Ian Stewart of the British rock band The Rolling Des pierres. With Keith Richards, in a partnership they named The Glimmer Twins, he is the songwriter for most of the songs in the band's original repertoire. In addition to singing, he occasionally plays harmonica and guitar with the Rolling Stones. He is also an occasional actor.
Mick Jagger is one of the most famous rock singers because of the Rolling Stones' popularity and longevity.
A true star since the mid-1960s, his demonstrative stage presence, attitude and charisma have made him the archetypal rock singer, often cited as a reference by many musicians.
